I learned that
we should cherish the ones we love,
because we may not get another chance to do so.
I learned that
it's never silly to say, "I love you."
I learned that
we should hug the ones we love a little tighter and a little longer.
I learned that
we should stay in touch with family and friends for
they are often taken away from us too soon.
I learned that
it's important to forgive.
I learned that
time won't wait for us so we should
reach for our dreams now.
I learned that
when we touch someone's life, our name is engraved in their heart forever,
and we're never forgotten.
I learned that
everyone has a special purpose
even if that purpose is simply to love
and be there for others.
I learned that
life is eternal and love is immortal.
I learned that
if we wait to say or do those little thoughtful things for others,
we may find that it's too late.
I learned that
we must let ourselves cry in order to heal.
I learned that
we should find a reason to celebrate life each day.
I learned that
with the passage of one life,
another is ushered in.
I learned that
even grief comes with blessings
for it brings hearts closer and binds them tighter.
I learned that
healing comes through remembering--not through forgetting.
I learned that
when someone is taken away from us,
another gift of love is sent to us from heaven.
I learned that
no one is ever lost for their love
lives on in our hearts and in our most beautiful memories.
I learned that
grief isn't everlasting
but goes through evolutions and phases,
and it gets a little lighter each day.
I learned that
life is a journey with hills to climb and
road bumps to get around,
and between the smooth stretches,
there will always be repairs to make,
tanks to fill, and obstacles to get past.
But even when the way isn't easy going,
life is our most precious gift
and we should make the most of each moment.
