 The miracles of earth hold irrefutable evidence that there's a God who specially designed the planet for life. Millions of delicate balances make this possible. Here are only a few. All life on earth is made up of the carbon atom, the only substance which can make infinite bonds with other atoms to form the complex molecules of living organisms. Earth is the only known planet where carbon-based molecules can survive. Carbon molecules can only survive temperatures of -20 degrees to 120 degrees. For the right temperatures to exist, the earth's orbit around the sun can only deviate 2.8 mm for every 29 km. If the deviation were 3 mm, there would be great catastrophe. If it were 2.5, the orbit would be so wide that all life on earth would freeze. If it were 2.1, all life would be vaporized. If the sun had a bigger mass, it would have more surface heat and would radiate deadly rays that would fry all living creatures. With a 10% decrease, all living organisms would freeze. Earth also has an ideal size. If it were smaller or larger, it wouldn't have the optimal temperature to sustain life. To distribute the sun's rays, the spinning earth has a slope of 23 degrees. Without this exact angle, there would be no atmosphere and life wouldn't be possible. In addition to being a perfect 93 million miles away from the blistering sun, earth is also nestled between the outer planets of our solar system, which provide protection from dangerous bodies such as large comets and asteroids. The position of earth is also far enough away from other stars to protect it from the harmful effects related to exploding stars, gas clouds, and other sources of radiation. And these are only a few of the miracles that make life possible on earth. The precision of it all boggles the mind. If only one factor were missing, the ideal balance wouldn't be met and life wouldn't exist. Our planet was created by His hands and is the work of an infinite mind who calculated and devised an unbelievably intricate and complex system to sustain life, and earth's many miracles are proof that THERE IS A GOD! He plans, creates, delivers, protects, and heals. He holds the planet in His gentle hands, the mountains, the seas, and you and me. |
